Playing Atget 👞👞

Playing Atget is a photographic meditation on the sublime poetics of vision—those in-between places where reflections and objects collide. Inspired by the Parisian photographer Eugène Atget and his turn-of-the-century images of window displays, this body of work reimagines these ideas through the overlapping visual landscape of New York City.

Each photograph in the series captures the simultaneity of space: what is in the glass, on the glass, and through the glass. These moments are not staged—they are discovered while walking, while drifting. The compositions emerge from coincidence, intuition, and an attempt to photograph something that is always disappearing. In that way, these are collages not made by hand, but by light, motion, and attention.
